How to Boost Your Chances of Approval

Bear in mind that you’ll be evaluated by several factors even if you are pre-qualified before being deemed eligible for a card. Below are some ways to boost your chance of getting approval:

  • Retrieve a copy of your credit history and ensure there are no errors.
  • If you notice any error, contact the credit bureau to dispute any errors noticed.
  • Go through your credit report again before reapplying.

Ensure to apply for a secured credit card that needs a deposit. This helps build a positive credit history even if you get declined. Reapply for your card as soon as your credit report shows a positive credit history.

Note that you can always reapply if your application was denied. Find out what’s hindering the approval and ensure to correct the mistakes.

Home Depot Credit Card Limit

If you get approval for any of the cards, you’ll also receive a credit limit which is at $500. Note that the credit score required for your card could also increase.

To increase your credit limit, log in to your account, click on manage account, and then proceed to credit line increase. Home Depot uses the three bureaus to evaluate your score.

There is no telling which specific bureau will be used when you apply for your credit card. The system randomly chooses Experian, Equifax, or TransUnion to check your credit score. A good credit score from 640 above is required for the application of your card.

Available Home Depot Credit Cards

Currently, there are four kinds of Home Depot credit cards, which are divided into two bodies. Two are designed for individuals, while the other two are for companies. Not unless you’re a contractor, there won’t be a need for you to obtain the Home Depot commercial Credit Card.

Home Depot offers two types of credit cards for consumers. The conventional card offers a 0% promotional interest rate, and an established APR ranges from 21.50% to 28.99% per annum if interest is not paid in full. And the Home Depot Project Loan Credit Card is designed to work as a line of credit. It has a limited payback duration of a balance as high as $50,000 and an APR of 8.99%.

This information does not apply to residents of Quebec.

Home Depot Consumer Credit Card

This is a store card that can be used to make everyday purchases at any Home Depot store and online. For any procurement of $299 or more, Home Depot offers 0% interest for six months and other promotions all year. The 0% financing only applies when you follow your payment rules.

Like every other deferred interest promotion, 0% for six months implies that you must offset the full balance before the six months elapse. If you are late on your payment, your account will be subjected to a full interest amount for the past six months like the promotion never existed.

Home Depot Project Loan Card

This card is designed for people who are planning a massive renovation or building project. The Home Depot Project loan credit card has credit lines ranging from $500 to $50,000.

There are no annual fees attached to this card, there is a window period of 84 months to offset the balance in full and a six months purchasing grace to buy products while making interest-only repayments. The interest rate on this card is 8.99%, and there are no benefits attached to this card.

Home Depot Commercial Cards

The Home Depot Commercial Card is more suitable for businesses with multiple employees. Each employee can have their own cards for payment but will still be charged to one account. This makes it a lot easier to monitor and control employee spending.

The commercial card also offers payment flexibility and allows users to pay their balance in full each month or make low minimum monthly payments.

You can choose either of these two options: The Commercial Revolving Card or the Commercial Account.
