Note that even if you’ve done excellently well in the past by meeting all the minimum criteria, you may still be declined a bank credit card. Too much overall debt or just one recent late payment can be all it takes for your credit card request to be declined.

  • Good: 700-749
  • Average: 600-699

If you’ve had your account for at least 6 months, TD may consider your credit limit increase request. TD reviews credit limit increase requests within two working days. Once approved, your new credit limit will show on your online banking profile.

What is the Easiest Credit Card to Be Approved for?

You have to show card issuers that you’re financially responsible for maintaining a good credit history. Before determining the easiest credit card to get, you may want first to check your credit score.

If you aren’t so confident of your credit score, but you want a quick getaway, you may find the following useful;

  • Secured Credit Cards can be considered by those with poor or no credit history.
  • Student Credit Cards are targeted at 18-21 years of age with little or no credit history. You mustn’t be a student to get this credit card, but you have other requirements to meet.
  • Store Credit Cards have a lower credit rating requirement when compared with others. They can help you build a credit history.
  • Authorised-user Credit Cards require you to be added under the existing account of a primary account holder. A family member might be the best for this. A primary account holder should have a good credit history.

What Credit Score Do You Need for the Best Credit Cards?

The best credit cards are only available to applicants with credit scores of 750 and more. Although having good credit gives you a better chance, it isn’t a guarantee that the credit card requests will be accepted.

Year in year out, a lot of people who apply for credit cards are denied. Being denied many times in a year may hurt your chances of getting your credit card approved.

How Does a TD Credit Card Work?

When you apply for a credit card, it means you want to borrow money from the bank to aid you. Whatever you purchase with your credit card, TD will pay on your behalf.

At the end of the monthly billing cycle, you’ll receive a Monthly Credit Card Statement detailing how much you’ve spent and how much you will pay.

If you can’t pay the balance in full by the payment due date, you can pay a smaller amount called the Minimum Payment Amount. It would help if you did this to maintain a good credit rating.

But remember that paying just the minimum amount will make the remaining charges to accrue interest. This will prove very costly.

Can I Get a Same-day Credit Card?

We live in times when so much can be done in very little time. Digital technology has made things a lot easier.

You may get carried away with all these rapid responses, which leave you with high expectations of receiving your credit card the same day.

You may want to slow down now. You may indeed get your credit card approved the same day, but not many card issuers may hand you your card on the go.

TD Bank will typically hand over your credit card upon approval between 7-10 business days.

Interestingly, other banks have a creative way for clients to get a same-day credit card. With this, clients of these banks may not wait for their credit cards to arrive before making purchases. Some card issuers give access to credit card numbers immediately after approval.

How do I Increase My TD Bank Credit Card Limit?

You can request an increase in your credit card limit by;

  • Login into TD Bank online and requesting for a TD Bank increase.
  • Via their mobile application
  • Call customer support at 888-561-8861

To stand a better chance of increasing your credit card limit, you should maintain a good credit score of around 700+, have a low credit utilization ratio and have a timely payment history. In summary, be financially responsible.
